Hobart gets two holidays the north of the state doesn’t. Royal Hobart Regatta Day is a Monday in February, and Royal Hobart Show Day is a Thursday in October. Both cover most of the state from Oatlands and Swansea south, and WorkSafe Tasmania lists the exact areas.
The parts of the state that don’t take Regatta Day get Recreation Day in November instead, so that one isn’t a Hobart holiday. And unlike Victoria and NSW, Tasmania’s list has no Easter Saturday or Easter Sunday.
Daylight saving started at 2am on Sunday 4 October 2026 and ends at 3am on the first Sunday in April, which is 4 April 2027 (Tasmanian Department of Premier and Cabinet). Your assistant follows your local clock, so bookings, reminders and the rule that a night-time text waits until 9am all move with it.
A Thursday off does odd things to a working week. If you take Show Day, text us and your assistant won’t book jobs on it.
