AI receptionist for Perth tradies

It answers on Perth time when you can’t get to the phone, says it’s your assistant, books the routine work and texts you the urgent calls. We set it up by phone from Wagga.

The short answer

OffsiteMate’s AI receptionist answers a Perth tradie’s phone on Perth time. It picks up when you can’t, says it’s your assistant, books routine jobs at times you’re free, and texts you emergencies before ringing you.

The ABS counted 37,191 construction businesses in Greater Perth at 30 June 2025 (ABS Data by Region, read October 2026). That’s plenty of other phones for a customer to try when yours rings out.

It’s A$299 a month for a sole trader, with 100 minutes and 150 texts included, plus A$299 to set up. We’re in Wagga Wagga, NSW, and we set Perth tradies up over the phone.

WA leaves its clocks alone all year, which keeps things simple. Western Power’s process after a shock is less simple: it can leave a customer without power until a sparky fixes the wiring.

Perth stays put. The east coast moves.

WA doesn’t use daylight saving. New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT do (Fair Work Ombudsman). This season their clocks went forward on Sunday 4 October 2026 and go back on Sunday 4 April 2027 (NSW Government), so for those six months the time gap between Perth and Sydney grows by an hour.

Your assistant doesn’t care what time it is in Sydney. It runs on your time zone and your hours, so bookings, reminders and the rule that a night-time text waits until 9am all go by Perth time.

WA public holidays, 2026 and 2027

WA keeps its own calendar: Labour Day in March, WA Day in June and the King’s Birthday at the end of September. Your assistant answers on all of them, at the same price.

Christmas DayFriday 25 DecemberSaturday 25 December and Monday 27 December
Boxing DaySaturday 26 December and Monday 28 DecemberSunday 26 December and Tuesday 28 December

Dates from the WA Government’s public holidays page (wa.gov.au), read October 2026. Karratha and Port Hedland move the King’s Birthday holiday to August; the rest of WA, Perth included, uses the dates above.

WA’s holidays may move in 2028

A bill before the WA Parliament would move Labour Day to the second Monday in March, WA Day to the second Monday in November and the King’s Birthday to the second Monday in June. It would also make Easter Saturday a public holiday and add a Show Day.

The WA Government says the bill passed the Legislative Assembly on 23 October 2025 and still needs the Legislative Council. Nothing would change before 2028. If it passes, text us your new days off and we’ll change your hours.

What a Perth sparky might want texted straight away

You decide what counts. For electricians we start with these, plus one that comes from how Western Power handles a shock.

  • Sparks or a burning smell
  • No power, but the neighbours have it
  • Safety switch won’t stay on
  • Broken power point or switch
  • Power cut off by Western Power after a shock, waiting on an electrician

Why that last one is a job

Western Power says anyone who gets a shock or tingle should ring it on 13 13 51 straight away. If its crew finds the cause is wiring in the property, it may disconnect the property until a qualified electrician fixes it.

Then the electrician has to send Western Power a notice asking for the property to be reconnected. So that customer needs a sparky while their power is off.

A whole street in the dark is different: that’s Western Power’s job, on the same number.

Numbers to keep for Perth customers

The ones your customers might need before they need you.

  • Power: emergencies, outages, shocks

Western Power, 13 13 51, 24 hours. It runs the electricity network in the south-west corner of WA.

  • Gas faults and leaks

ATCO, 13 13 52, 24 hours. ATCO says its network covers more than 80% of the Perth metropolitan area.

  • Water faults and outages

Water Corporation, 13 13 75, any hour, for a fault or outage that isn’t already on its outages map.

From Western Power’s contact, shocks and tingles, and what we do pages; ATCO’s emergency contacts and WA gas networks pages; and Water Corporation’s contact page. All read 12 October 2026.

Who licenses Perth trades

Building and Energy, part of WA’s Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety, oversees the electrical, gas, plumbing, painting and building industries. It supports the Electrical Licensing Board, the Plumbers Licensing Board and the Building Services Board.

Its site has a search to find a licensed electrician, gas fitter or plumber. WA’s Building Commissioner regulates painters as well as builders, building surveyors and building engineers.

What it costs

The same price in Perth as in Wagga. Pick the one for how many people work in the business.

Perth questions

Do you have an office in Perth?

No. We’re in Wagga Wagga, NSW, and we set tradies up anywhere in Australia by phone. You keep your number and forward your calls to the assistant.

Does it answer on Perth time?

Yes. It runs on your time zone and your hours. WA doesn’t use daylight saving, so nothing changes in October or April.

Can I keep my 08 number?

Yes. 08 is the landline area code for WA, SA, the NT and parts of western NSW, and your number stays with your phone company. It forwards to your assistant’s own Australian mobile number. A landline or phone system forwards differently to a mobile, so ring us and we’ll work it out with you and your provider.

Is there a virtual receptionist for Perth tradies?

Ours is an AI assistant that does a virtual receptionist’s job. It answers in an Australian voice, says it’s your assistant and books the work in.

Will it answer on WA Day and the King’s Birthday?

Yes. It answers every day, public holidays included, at the same price. It only books jobs on those days if your hours include them.

Can it tell callers to ring Western Power?

If you want it to. Text us what you’d like it to say about outages and shocks, and we’ll add it. If someone’s in danger, it tells them to hang up and ring triple zero.

What does an AI receptionist cost in Perth?

The same as anywhere: A$299 a month for a sole trader with 100 minutes and 150 texts, and A$299 to set up. Crews of 2 to 4 pay A$449 a month, and 5 to 10 pay A$799. There’s no GST on top.
