AI receptionists from phone systems, or OffsiteMate?

RingCentral, Zoom, GoTo, Yeastar and 3CX sell an AI receptionist with their phone systems. Here’s what each costs here, what it does on a call and who sets it up.

The short answer

RingCentral’s AI receptionist costs A$62 a month for 100 minutes in Australia, sold only on top of its own phone plan. Zoom shows AU$38 a month paid yearly for 100 minutes on any phone, though its Australian pricing page still says coming soon.

They’re phone systems first, built for offices with staff to put calls through to, and you or your IT person set them up. Booking a job is patchy. Ours is A$299 a month for a sole trader, set up for you, and books the job into ServiceM8, Fergus, Google Calendar or Outlook.

Why a tradie might pick us

  • Keep the phone you’ve got

Your number stays with your phone company. Forward it to the assistant’s own Australian mobile number.

  • It books the job

Into ServiceM8, Fergus, Google Calendar or Outlook, at times you’re free, then reminds the customer.

  • Set up for you

We set it up after a chat, read what it says to your customers and fix it. You ask for changes by text.

When a phone system makes sense

If you’ve got an office, desk phones and staff to put calls through to, a phone system with an AI receptionist does that better than we do. Ours doesn’t transfer calls.

RingCentral and Zoom both cost less a month than ours, which is A$299 for a sole trader.

On the tools with one mobile, you’d be buying a whole phone system to get a receptionist, and someone still has to write its answers and hook up a calendar. With us, that someone is us.

Go over your minutes or texts and it keeps answering: A$0.49 a minute and A$0.25 a text. It’s month to month, because 12 months is a big commitment to make to a robot. That’s the whole price. Nothing gets added on top. Questions? Ring us on 0468 075 000 or email hello@offsitemate.com.au.
