OfficeHQ or OffsiteMate?

OfficeHQ sells receptionists, and an AI with people behind it, by the call or the minute. Ours is an AI assistant that books the job, for one monthly price.

The short answer

OfficeHQ is an Australian answering service run from the Sunshine Coast. Its receptionists start at A$25 a month plus A$2.50 a call, and its AI plan at A$20 a month for 10 calls, both before GST. OffsiteMate is an AI assistant for tradies, A$299 a month for a sole trader, set up for you.

For a few calls a month, OfficeHQ costs less. Its cheaper plans take a message, and booking is a separate per-minute plan. Ours books the routine jobs, texts you the emergencies and texts back missed calls, with nothing extra at night.

Fair questions

How much does OfficeHQ cost?

On 12 October 2026 its AI plan started at A$20 a month for 10 calls, and a receptionist taking messages at A$25 a month plus A$2.50 a call. Transfers start at A$33 plus A$3.89 a call, and booking at A$49 plus A$2.99 a minute, with setup from A$99. All are before GST, and after-hours calls, texts and transfers cost extra.

Are OfficeHQ’s calls answered in Australia?

Mostly. It says about 90% of its receptionists are on the Sunshine Coast, and busy-time overflow goes to its offices in places like New Zealand, the UK and the US. Ours is answered by an AI assistant, not a person.

Is OfficeHQ’s AI receptionist like yours?

Both answer with AI at any hour. Theirs takes messages and transfers calls, with a live receptionist to take over, and its FAQ says callers won’t know it’s AI unless you want them to. Ours always says it’s your assistant, books routine jobs and texts you emergencies. When a caller wants you, you ring back.

Does OfficeHQ have a free trial?

Yes. Seven days with no credit card, on its MyReceptionist plan, and its AI page offers seven days too. Ours has no trial, but you can ring the demo on 0485 000 166 at any hour. It answers as Mario’s Plumbing, a made-up plumber.

Will my customers know it’s not me?

Yes. It tells them straight up it’s your assistant. If they want you, it takes their number and you ring them back.

Is there a lock-in contract?

No. It’s month to month, because 12 months is a big commitment to make to a robot.
