South Australia uses daylight saving. The Fair Work Ombudsman sets out the rule: clocks go forward at 2am on the first Sunday in October and back at 3am on the first Sunday in April. This season that’s Sunday 4 October 2026 and Sunday 4 April 2027, and the next change forward is Sunday 3 October 2027.
Your assistant works to your time zone and your hours. Bookings, reminders and the rule that a night-time text waits until 9am all go by your local time, so they follow the clocks without anyone touching anything.
SA’s standard time is 9 hours and 30 minutes ahead of Coordinated Universal Time, the world’s reference clock (SafeWork SA, read October 2026). NSW is 10 hours ahead (NSW Standard Time Act 1987), and both states change their clocks on the same Sundays. So Adelaide runs half an hour behind us in Wagga all year, and when we say we’ll ring at 10, we’ll check whose 10.
The clock in the ute is still your problem.
