AI receptionist for Bathurst tradies

It answers as your business, says it’s your assistant, books the routine work and texts you the urgent calls. Set up over the phone from Wagga Wagga.

The short answer

OffsiteMate is an AI receptionist that answers a Bathurst tradie’s phone when they can’t get to it. Any hour, every day, NSW public holidays included, at the same price. It tells callers it’s your assistant, gets the job details, books routine work at times you’re free and texts you emergencies straight away.

It’s A$299 a month for a sole trader, with 100 minutes and 150 texts included, plus A$299 once to set up. We’re based in Wagga Wagga and set you up by phone. You keep your number.

The week Bathurst’s gas went off

On the evening of Wednesday 2 November 2022, an incident on APA’s Young to Lithgow gas pipeline left Bathurst, Lithgow, Oberon and Wallerawang without gas.

Jemena, which the NSW Government lists as the gas network for the Central West and Orana, brought Bathurst back in sections. Its technicians had to attend every property, make it safe and only then relight. By Wednesday 9 November it said it had visited more than 14,000 homes and businesses, in what it called an unseasonably cold period.

Your assistant can’t relight a heater. It can answer the phone while you do.

What Jemena asked customers to do

From Jemena’s updates during the outage. Worth knowing if a caller tells you the whole street has lost gas.

  • Don’t touch the gas meter or valves at the property
  • Switch gas appliances off
  • Wait for Jemena to check the property and say it’s safe
  • If no one was home, look for the calling card Jemena leaves
  • Still no gas after the crews have been through? Ring Jemena on 131 909

Where you come in

Restoring a network is Jemena’s job. Past the gas supply point it’s gasfitting, and in NSW that means a licence, LP gas included, whatever the job costs (Building Commission NSW). Connecting an appliance counts, unless it just plugs into a gas outlet socket.

So a caller with a whole-street outage might need Jemena first and you second. If you’d like your assistant to tell them that, text us and we’ll add it. A heater that won’t light on a street that still has gas is a different call, and it can come straight to you.

Public holidays in Bathurst, 2026 and 2027

None of NSW’s local public holidays or local event days for 2026 or 2027 is in the Bathurst Regional Council area, so the state list is the whole list. The Bathurst 1000 weekend isn’t a public holiday either. Your assistant answers on every day below at the same price.

Bathurst, by the numbers

The Bathurst urban area had 39,013 people at 30 June 2025 (ABS estimate). The ABS counted 807 construction businesses in the Bathurst Regional Council area at the same date.

Bathurst landlines start 02 63, a range the national numbering plan shares with Orange, Cowra, Lithgow, Mudgee, Rylstone and Young. Your number stays yours and forwards to the assistant.

In regional NSW the plumbing inspections and paperwork go to council, and in Bathurst that’s Bathurst Regional Council (Building Commission NSW). Plumbers will know that already. Customers can check any NSW trade licence on Service NSW’s Verify.licence.
