AI receptionist for Wagga Wagga tradies

When a call comes in and you’re flat out, it answers in your business’s name, makes clear it’s your assistant and books the job. We’re based in Wagga, and we set it up with you over the phone.

The short answer

OffsiteMate’s AI receptionist answers the phone for Wagga Wagga tradies when they’re on the tools. It says it’s your assistant, gets the caller’s name, address and what’s wrong, books routine work at times you’re free and texts you emergencies straight away, then rings you.

It’s A$299 a month for a sole trader, with 100 minutes and 150 texts included, plus A$299 once to set up. OffsiteMate is based in Wagga Wagga. We set tradies up by phone wherever they are, and that includes here.

Yes, we’re actually in Wagga

Being in the same town doesn’t change much about how this works. Setup is a chat on the phone: what jobs you take, where you work, your hours, and what you want treated as an emergency. Then we build it, and it’s live within a few days. You never touch the software.

It does put us on the same clock as you, and when you say Riverina Water has the restrictions on, we know what you mean. Ring us on 0468 075 000 and a human answers.

Who to ring in Wagga, and for what

Power, gas, water and sewer are four different outfits here. Want callers sent to one of them when it fits? Text us and we’ll put it in.

  • Power out or a fallen line

Essential Energy, 13 20 80. Its Australian call centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

  • A shock or tingle from a tap

Essential Energy again, 13 20 80. It sends a crew and will likely cut the power to inspect. If the wiring is the cause, the owner pays a licensed electrician to fix it before the power goes back on.

  • A gas smell

Australian Gas Networks runs Wagga’s gas network. Ring 1800 GAS LEAK (1800 427 532). The meter and the street side are its job. Leaks between the meter and the appliances are the owner’s to fix, using a licensed gas fitter.

  • Water supply

Riverina Water, 02 6922 0608, any hour for emergencies and faults. It looks after the water up to the meter and isn’t responsible for plumbing beyond it.

  • Sewer

Wagga Wagga City Council runs the sewers. The council’s number is 1300 292 442.

  • Flood or storm damage

The SES, on 132 500 from anywhere in Australia. Triple zero if someone’s in danger.

From Essential Energy’s contact and shocks pages, Australian Gas Infrastructure Group’s emergency contacts page, Riverina Water’s contact and leak pages, the NSW Office of Local Government’s council directory and the NSW Government’s list of local water utilities, read October 2026.

Stage 1 water restrictions are on until April

Riverina Water put Stage 1 restrictions in place from Sunday 4 October 2026 to Sunday 4 April 2027, unless it says otherwise. Those are the same two Sundays daylight saving starts and ends, so at least they’re easy to remember (Riverina Water, read October 2026).

  • No watering gardens or lawns between 10am and 5pm, unless it’s with a handheld hose
  • Sprinklers and irrigation systems wait until after 5pm
  • No hosing down paved areas between 10am and 5pm, unless it’s needed after an accident, fire, health hazard or other emergency
  • No restrictions on private swimming pools or washing cars
  • Exemptions are by written application to Riverina Water

When a customer’s water bill jumps

Riverina Water has a rebate for undetected leaks, and the plumber’s invoice is part of the claim. Worth knowing when the call is “my bill’s gone through the roof” (Riverina Water’s leak pages, read October 2026).

  1. They check the meter

Riverina Water’s test: turn off everything that uses water, photograph the red dials, wait at least an hour and look again. Any movement means a leak.

  2. A licensed plumber fixes it

The rebate needs the fault repaired by a licensed plumber. A fix by anyone else rules it out.

  3. They apply within 30 days

The application has to go in within 30 days of the due date on the bill, with a digital copy of the plumber’s invoice. So send it promptly.

  4. Some leaks don’t count

Riverina Water may knock it back if water was visible, things were damp, grass or plants were growing unusually, or the leak was a tap, cistern, hot water service, trough, sprinkler or air conditioner.

NSW public holidays in Wagga, 2026 and 2027

Holidays don’t cost extra. Calls get answered as usual, and jobs only get booked on a holiday you’ve told us you work.

Dates from the NSW Government’s public holidays page, read October 2026. None of the local public holidays or local event days NSW has declared for 2026 or 2027 are in Wagga Wagga. Daylight saving runs from 2am on Sunday 4 October 2026 to 3am on Sunday 4 April 2027, and your assistant follows your local time through both changes.

Construction outnumbers agriculture, on the ABS count

The ABS counted 1,131 construction businesses in the Wagga Wagga council area at 30 June 2025, more than any other industry. Agriculture, forestry and fishing came second with 959 (ABS Data by Region, read October 2026). The city had 58,117 people at 30 June 2025 (ABS estimate).

That’s a lot of utes for one city. A customer whose call goes to voicemail will find another one. Your assistant picks up instead, or rings you first and only answers when you don’t, and books routine work into ServiceM8, Fergus, Google Calendar or Outlook.

Checking a licence in NSW

Trade licences in NSW sit with Building Commission NSW, whether it’s an electrician, a plumber or a gasfitter. Customers can check one on Service NSW’s Verify.licence, or ring Building Commission NSW on 13 27 00, weekdays 8:30am to 5pm.

If you text us your licence number, your assistant can give it out when a caller asks.

Set up for your trade

What a Wagga plumber chasing leak calls wants texted at night isn’t what a gardener working around the restrictions wants. The trade pages show where we start.

What it costs

Being down the road doesn’t get you a different price. It’s the same everywhere in Australia.

Wagga Wagga tradies ask us

Do you have an office in Wagga Wagga?

We’re based in Wagga Wagga, but there’s no office to drop into. Setup happens over the phone, the same as it does for tradies anywhere else in Australia. Ring us on 0468 075 000 and a human answers.

Can I keep my 02 69 number?

Yes. The national numbering plan lists Wagga Wagga under (02) 69, (02) 59 and (02) 39 numbers. You keep it with your phone company and divert it to your assistant’s own Australian mobile number. Got a landline or a phone system? Ring us and we’ll sort the forwarding out with you and your provider.

Can it tell callers about the water restrictions?

Only if you ask. Send us the wording, such as for irrigation jobs, and we’ll put it in. It answers from what you’ve told us.

Is it a virtual receptionist?

Yes, an AI one. It speaks with an Australian accent, tells callers it’s your assistant, warns them the call may be recorded, then gets the job booked. It won’t transfer the call to you. It takes their number so you can ring back.

How much does an AI receptionist cost in Wagga?

A$299 a month for a sole trader, with 100 minutes and 150 texts included, plus A$299 to set up. With 2 to 4 people it’s A$449 a month, and A$799 with 5 to 10. No GST is added, and it’s month to month.
