Forward your calls to your assistant

You keep your number. Your phone sends calls on to your assistant, every call or only the ones you don’t pick up. We do this with you on a call at setup. This page is for when you need it again.

How it works

  1. Have your assistant’s number handy

We give it to you at setup. In the codes below, swap 04XXXXXXXX for it.

  2. Pick how you want it

Every call goes straight to your assistant, or your phone rings first and your assistant answers if you don’t.

  3. Dial the code

On the phone you’re forwarding, type the code for your phone company into the keypad and press call.

  4. Ring yourself to test it

From another phone, ring your number and check your assistant answers.

Codes from each company’s own help pages, read 12 October 2026: Telstra “How do I forward calls on my mobile?”, Optus “Manage call diversions on your Mobile Phone” plus its ring time, costs and iPhone guides, and Vodafone “Managing Call Forwarding”. They change these, so if a code doesn’t work, ring us.

Good to know

The rings-first codes cover a call you don’t answer, a phone that’s off or out of coverage, and a call that comes in while you’re on another one. Optus does it with one code.

Telstra: you can also forward every call by texting CFU ON 04XXXXXXXX to 144, and stop it by texting CFU OFF.

Optus: you can also set it in the My Optus app, under Settings, then Voicemail and call diversions. Optus says 20 seconds is about 4 to 8 rings.

Vodafone: prepaid services can only forward to voicemail or Call Catcher, so they can’t forward to your assistant.

On an iPhone or Android phone

iPhone, every call: Settings, Apps, Phone, Call Forwarding, then turn it on. With two SIMs, pick the line. Tap Forward To, enter your assistant’s number and tap Back. You need mobile coverage when you do it.

iPhone, rings first: Apple says to ask your phone company, so use the codes above in the keypad.

iPhone with Live Voicemail on: Telstra says calls you miss go to Live Voicemail on your phone instead of the network, which can stop them reaching your assistant. Turn it off in Settings, Apps, Phone.

Samsung: Phone app, the three dots, Settings, Supplementary services, Call forwarding. Pick an option, enter your assistant’s number and tap Enable. To stop, tap the option again, then Disable.

Pixel and other Android phones: Google’s Phone app help doesn’t cover forwarding, so use your phone company’s code.

Fair questions about forwarding

Can you turn it on for me?

No. Forwarding is a setting on your phone, with your phone company, so it has to be done from your phone. We go through it with you on a call.

What happens to my voicemail?

Calls go to your assistant instead. If you turn forwarding off later, Telstra’s code to send missed calls back to MessageBank is **004*101#, and Vodafone’s is 1211. Optus lists its codes in the “Divert calls to your voicemail” guide for your phone.

My number is a landline, or runs through a phone system.

The codes are different. Ring us and we’ll work it out with you and your provider.

Someone sent me a link to turn on forwarding.

Don’t tap it. Apple warns that scammers use them. Only forward to the assistant number we gave you.
