Vodafone call forwarding, code by code
Every code Vodafone lists for forwarding your mobile, how to check each one and turn it off, and the catch if you’re on prepaid. Taken from Vodafone’s own help pages.
The short answer
On a Vodafone plan, dial **21* then the number then # to forward every call. To forward only the calls you miss, dial **61* (no answer), **62* (switched off or out of coverage) and **67* (busy), each followed by the number and #.
Dial ##002# to turn all of it off.
Prepaid is different. Vodafone only lets prepaid services forward to its voicemail or Call Catcher, so you can’t send calls to another number.
Vodafone says forwarding costs nothing extra in Australia.
Every Vodafone call forwarding code
Swap [number] for the number you’re forwarding to. Key the code into your phone’s keypad and press call.
| Turn it on | Check it | Turn it off | |
|---|---|---|---|
| All calls. Your phone doesn’t ring | **21*[number]# | *#21# | #21# |
| No answer. It rings out | **61*[number]# | *#61# | #61# |
| Unreachable. Switched off or out of coverage | **62*[number]# | *#62# | #62# |
| Busy. On another call, or you hit decline | **67*[number]# | *#67# | #67# |
| All “conditional” ones, Vodafone’s word for the missed-call kinds | Dial the codes above | Check each one | ##004# |
| Every kind at once | Dial the ones you want | Check each one | ##002# |
Codes from Vodafone’s “Managing Call Forwarding” page (vodafone.com.au/support/device/call-forwarding), read 12 October 2026.
Vodafone’s short codes for voicemail and Call Catcher
Vodafone lists none of these as a charged call.
| What it does | |
|---|---|
| 1211 | Missed calls go to voicemail: no answer, unreachable or busy. This is how you get voicemail back. |
| 1212 | Every call goes to voicemail. Your phone won’t ring, and you get a text if someone leaves a message. |
| 1210 | Removes your diversions and sends missed calls to Call Catcher instead. |
| 121600 | Turns Call Catcher on or off. |
| 1213 | Cancels forwarding of all calls. |
| 1214 | Cancels every diversion, all calls and missed calls. |
From Vodafone’s “Short Dialling Codes” page, read 12 October 2026. Its voicemail page, read the same day, says 1211 sends a call to voicemail when your phone isn’t answered for 15 seconds.
Forward your missed calls, step by step
This is for a plan. Your phone still rings first, so you keep the calls you can take.
Write the number the Vodafone way
Vodafone’s own examples put +61 in front and drop the first 0, so 04XX XXX XXX becomes +614XXXXXXXX. Leave the spaces out.
Dial the three codes
On the keypad, dial **61*+614XXXXXXXX# and press call. Then do the same with **62* and **67*. Each code covers one situation, so you need all three.
Set how long it rings, if you want
Add the seconds to the end of the no-answer code: **61*+614XXXXXXXX*20# forwards after 20 seconds. Vodafone’s device guides say the number has to be divisible by 5.
Check each one took
Dial *#61#, *#62# and *#67#. Vodafone calls these the codes to confirm your current setting.
Test it before you rely on it
Borrow someone’s phone and ring your own number a few ways.
- Let it ring out. The call should go where you forwarded it.
- Ring again and hit decline. Vodafone counts a rejected call as busy, so the busy code should send it straight on.
- Switch your phone off, then ring. That tests the unreachable code.
- If a test ends up in voicemail, check that code with *#61#, *#62# or *#67# and dial it again.
Prepaid can’t forward to another number
Vodafone says prepaid services can forward to voicemail or Call Catcher only, and can’t divert to other numbers or services. The codes above won’t change that. Your options are below.
Plan or prepaid: where each can forward
On a plan, Vodafone lets you forward to standard Australian mobile and landline numbers, to voicemail, or to Call Catcher. It won’t divert to 13, 1300 or 1800 numbers.
On prepaid, it’s voicemail or Call Catcher. Call Catcher is free. Instead of leaving a message, a caller can send you their number by text. Dial 121600 and follow the prompts to set it up.
If you want missed calls going somewhere that answers, prepaid leaves two ways out: move to a Vodafone plan, or give your customers a different number.
Where to send the calls
Forwarding only helps if something useful picks up. Voicemail takes a message when the caller leaves one, and Call Catcher gets you their number if they choose to send it. Either way you’re ringing back after knock-off. Your voicemail has done its best.
An AI receptionist is another place to send them, and we sell one. You forward missed calls to its own Australian mobile number. It answers as your business’s assistant, takes the job details, books routine jobs at times you’re free and texts you emergencies straight away. It’s A$299 a month for a sole trader, plus A$299 once to set it up.
On Vodafone prepaid, you can give out the assistant’s number as your business number instead, and we can set it to ring your mobile first. Two catches: calls to your old number won’t reach it until people switch over, and the number belongs to the service, so it goes if you leave.
How to turn off call forwarding on Vodafone
Dial ##002# to turn off every kind of forwarding at once. To stop just one, use its own off code from the table, like #21# for all calls. ##004# turns off only the conditional ones.
The short codes do it too. 1213 cancels forwarding of all calls, and 1214 cancels the lot.
Vodafone counts voicemail as a diversion as well, so turning everything off stops missed calls going to voicemail. Dial 1211 afterwards to get voicemail back. Vodafone says that with voicemail and Call Catcher both off, unanswered calls just ring out.
Doing it in the My Vodafone app
Vodafone says My Vodafone is the best way to manage forwarding. In the app, tap Account in the bottom menu, then the SIM and call settings tile. Enter the one-time code Vodafone sends you, then tap Call settings.
On the My Vodafone website it’s the same tile, under Account management. Business Flex and corporate accounts can’t use My Vodafone, Vodafone says, so use the codes or ask your account manager.
Vodafone’s guide for the Samsung Galaxy A17 also shows it in the phone’s own settings: the Phone app, the menu, Settings, Supplementary services, then Call forwarding. Pick the type, enter the number and tap Enable.
Things that catch people out
- Vodafone says you can’t change forwarding while your phone is making calls over Wi-Fi. Get back on the mobile network, then dial the codes.
- Dialling 1211 or 1210 later undoes forwarding to another number. Vodafone says 1211 resets your diversions to voicemail, and 1210 removes them and sends missed calls to Call Catcher.
- Vodafone won’t forward calls to 13, 1300 or 1800 numbers.
- Forwarding every call costs nothing while you’re overseas. Forwarding only missed calls to another number isn’t free. On pay-as-you-go roaming you pay for the call to you and the forward back, and on Vodafone’s $5 Roaming it sets off the daily fee. Switch to forwarding every call before you fly.
Where these codes come from
All from Vodafone Australia’s own pages, read on 12 October 2026. The forwarding codes, the prepaid rule and the costs are from “Managing Call Forwarding”, and the short codes from “Short Dialling Codes”. The 15 seconds is from Vodafone’s voicemail page, and the ring time and Samsung steps from its device guides for the iPhone 17 and Galaxy A17.
Phone companies change these. If a code doesn’t work, check Vodafone’s page or ring 1555 from your Vodafone mobile.
Vodafone call forwarding questions
What is the Vodafone call forwarding code?
**21*[number]# forwards every call. To forward only missed calls, dial **61*, **62* and **67*, each followed by the number and #. That’s from Vodafone’s call forwarding page, read 12 October 2026.
How do I turn off call forwarding on Vodafone?
Dial ##002# to turn it all off, or #21# to stop forwarding every call. Then dial 1211 if you want missed calls going to voicemail again.
Can I forward calls on Vodafone prepaid?
Only to Vodafone’s voicemail or Call Catcher. Vodafone says prepaid services can’t divert to other numbers. To forward to another number, you need a Vodafone plan.
Does Vodafone charge for call forwarding?
Not in Australia. Vodafone says there are no additional costs to use call forwarding here. Overseas, forwarding every call is still free, but forwarding only missed calls to another number costs you.
How long does Vodafone ring before it forwards?
Vodafone’s forwarding page doesn’t say. Its voicemail page says 1211 sends unanswered calls to voicemail after 15 seconds. Its device guides let you set your own time on the no-answer code, in steps of 5 seconds.
Can I forward my Vodafone landline?
Vodafone doesn’t offer a home phone line with its nbn. Its Mobile Landline add-on, A$5 a month on a plan, sends calls for a landline number to your Vodafone mobile, and only to a Vodafone mobile. Vodafone doesn’t say whether your mobile’s forwarding then passes those calls on, so ring the landline number to test it.
