No power? Look out the window first
If the streetlights and the neighbours are out too, it's the network: ring 13 20 80 (Essential Energy, Albury) or 13 17 99 (AusNet, Wodonga). If it's only your place, ring us. Switch off heaters and the stove so nothing comes on by itself when the power's back.

Powerline down? Stay at least 8 metres away
Keep everyone back from it and from anything it's touching, like a fence or a branch. Ring 13 20 80 (Essential Energy, Albury) or 13 17 99 (AusNet, Wodonga), or 000 if anyone is in danger.

Someone got a shock? Don't touch them until the power's off
Switch off at the switchboard or the power point if you safely can. Ring 000 if they passed out, are struggling to breathe or fell. Even a small shock needs a doctor's check.
