Electrician in Lavington

Lavington is Albury's biggest suburb, with its own postcode, 2641, and its own shopping centre at Lavington Square.

Lavington 2641

About Lavington

It was known as Black Range before it took the Lavington name, and it joined the City of Albury in the 1950s, with Union Road marking the old boundary. Much of the city's growth after the early 1970s happened here, once the Albury-Wodonga Development Corporation got going.

Shops cluster around Griffith, Wagga and Urana Roads. The 2021 Census counted 5,469 occupied homes, the most of any Albury suburb, with 39% rented and a median age of 40.

Boards from the 1970s and 80s

Homes from the growth years may be on boards with few safety switches. An upgrade adds circuit breakers and leaves room for an EV charger later.

If the shed runs off an extension lead, a proper circuit and weatherproof outlets are the safer setup. Tomo checks the board can take it first.

Questions

Lavington questions

Where does Lavington end and North Albury start?
At Union Road, the old line between the City of Albury and Hume Shire. The Five Ways intersection sits on it.
Do you come to Lavington on weekends?
Weekends are for emergencies, such as no power, sparks or a burning smell. Everything else is booked Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm.
Who fixes a fallen powerline in my street?
Essential Energy. Keep at least 8 metres back and ring 13 20 80, or 000 if anyone is in danger.
Can you install an EV charger in Lavington?
Yes. Tomo checks the switchboard and supply before he quotes, then fits the charger on its own circuit. Installation starts from $990, charger extra.
Do you label the circuits on a new board?
Yes. Every circuit gets a label, so the next time something trips you know which one.
